Let's spend 3 sessions talking about the thing many creatives and guides want to cleverly avoid: running a business.
First session
Understanding the garden of your business.
You need to see the whole garden—soil, plants, sun, water—if you want to understand what’s actually going on when something feels off. If your business isn’t bringing in enough money, it’s not enough to guess or panic. You have to be able to diagnose the issue. And if you don’t understand your own garden, how can you expect to advertise it? (How are you gonna sell produce at the market if you don’t even know what you’re growing?)
Second session
Now that you’ve mapped the garden, it’s time to get people interested in what you’re growing.
This is where marketing comes in: content strategy, communicating your expertise clearly, and making the value of your work obvious to the right people. This part does take some strategy. Just posting whatever you feel like can be fun—and sometimes effective—but it’s not a reliable path to sales. It might help you build a following, but let’s be clear: follower count does not equal money.
Third session
It’s time to gather data.
Are people actually buying from your produce stall? What’s getting attention, and what’s falling flat? What needs a small tweak? This is the skill of iteration—one of the most important capacities in running a successful business. You have to be willing to adapt and adjust in response to what’s working (and what’s not). We’ll also talk about the emotional side of showing up online: why it sometimes feels so hard to post, and what to do when that happens.

These sessions are geared toward people in a similar space as me—creatives, writers, guides, and service-based folks mostly working online. That said, if you run a product-based or in-person business, you might still find it helpful. I just want to be upfront about who I’m primarily speaking to. It’s your money—spend it however you want—but as always, I aim to be clear.
